Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 10 am–8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Bafang Dumpling at (714) 784-6001; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is bafangdumpling.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating stands at 3.3 out of 5 from 54 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

Brea is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brea follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Bafang Dumpling is a nice spot in Brea Mall if you're craving some quick dumplings or potstickers. I tried both the steamed and fried versions, and the fried one was definitely the winner for me. * Signature Dumplings (Steamed) 4/5 - Pretty decent steamed dumplings. This came with 6 pieces filled with pork and cabbage. They were good, but not as flavorful as the fried version. * Signature Potstickers (Fried) 4.5/5 - These came with 6 fried potstickers with a crispy bottom exterior and tasty pork and cabbage filling. I like the fried version better due to the crispy texture.

The customer service here is shocking. There's a guy cleaning the grill and the girl cleaning the sink in the back. Both saw me waiting at the counter and continued to clean. And the cashier guy came up later, stared at me. No greeting and no questions. He only responded when I started speaking. I went to order 2 combos for me and my mom but completely turned off by his service; only ended up getting potstickers. This is my first time at Brea mall location but you'll get better service at Irvine location. The employees here can't perform bare minimum customer service and are ruining the restaurant's reputation. Aside from the food, the service does not deserve any stars.

Authentic and delicious Taiwanese food! The potstickers and hot and sour soup are my favorites. The quality is consistently great, and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy Taiwanese food.

We waited for 30 minutes after ordering for our food. Eventually, I went to check on our order only to find it sitting on the counter. Dumplings were ok. A little soggy… probably from sitting in their own steam in a paper box on the counter for half an hour. Ambiance is the mall food court. I kinda don’t get why there’s such a long line for this place… service aside, the food wasn’t that good.

Really disappointed. I ordered dine-in, not takeout, and the packaging they gave me makes absolutely no sense for eating this dish. The bowl is way too shallow and the size is completely wrong—everything is stuck to the sides, and the soup comes in a separate huge container. There’s no practical way to eat it like this. Because the packaging was so unusable, I asked if they had the original larger bowl. But even after asking, this is still what I got… If I hadn’t spoken up myself, I honestly wouldn’t even know how to eat it. Changing packaging is fine, but at least make sure it works. The whole experience was really disappointing.
